Circumcision

Circumcision is the central rite of passage in the Riika Program, carried out as a professional medical procedure under the supervision of an in-house physician and trained medical staff.

Safety and dignity come first: every boy is medically assessed beforehand, the procedure itself follows strict clinical protocol, and 24/7 medical care continues through the days that follow.

Beyond the medical dimension, this stage carries deep cultural weight - it is kũrua, the moment that traditionally marks a boy’s (kĩhĩĩ) passage into manhood (mwanake) within the community.
