About Open Days
Meet the team, see the venues and ask your questions
Open Days give fathers, guardians, mothers and candidates the chance to learn about the Riika Program before registering.
Families meet the program team and mentors, tour the camp venues, and hear how the program observes each Kikuyu cultural requirement, activity, ritual and ceremony of Irua - from Gũthiĩ Mũtitũ (the forest boot camp) to Kumĩra (graduation).
It is also a good time for a father and his son to begin the conversation of Gũtua Itua: the decision, made willingly by the boy, that he is ready to go for circumcision.
Upcoming Open Day dates will be shared here and with registered families.
